Paris is Burning!
If you live in the Northeastern U.S. there are two stories dominating the news right now: the heat and Paris Hilton getting out of the hoosegow. I’ve been busily writing monologue jokes on both of these topics all week and last night on the Late Show (6/26/07) Dave Letterman told one of my jokes that combined both topics.
It was so hot today that Paris Hilton asked to be put back in the cooler.
Click here to hear it live (format: MP3, size: 91kb) or check it out here or watch the entire monologue here.
So now Paris has paid her debt to society for her traffic violations. She still owes us for the Simple Life.

Hear Chumworth Speak!
Jerry Lewis is big in France and – apparently – I’m big in … Sweden! Well, OK, I’m not but David Letterman sure is! A very nice lady named Christina from Sweden recently asked me if she could interview me for a podcast she does about pop culture called Voccine. She wanted to learn about the fascinating world of freelance monologue joke writing. Seeing as how my schedule was interview free last week (and every other week for the foreseeable future) I said sure and we had a nice conversation. I told her about joke writing and I even learned a few things myself, like the fact that she speaks better English than I do.
You can download and listen to the interview (in English) here (format: MP3, size: 6.9mb). It’s about 15 minutes long.
If you actually speak Swedish, you can read about and hear the entire podcast here. My interview begins about 16 minutes and 35 seconds into it. I don’t know for sure what else they were discussing (looks like the Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars and On The Lot) but I’ll bet it was interesting!
Christina has interviewed a number of interesting folks from the world of American entertainment. You can hear these interviews (in English) here. Check it out.
Tack, Christina! (I think – I hope – that’s Thanks in Swedish).
